Job Summary:
As the Assistant General Counsel for General Law, you will serve as the principal attorney for the U.S. Department of Transportation in all matters related to the Departments administrative operations including fiscal issues, procurement matters, organizational and jurisdictional issues; civil rights and personnel law; ethics; and administrative law. You will participate with the highest officials of the Department in the resolution of problems in these areas by providing legal advice, conducting research, providing recommendations to attorneys and/or the General Counsel, and represent the Department in conferences with other departments and agencies of the Federal Government, state, local and tribal governments, and public groups with respect to areas assigned. In addition, you will serve as the Alternate Designated Agency Ethics Official and provide ethics counseling and interpretations to employees.
