Job Summary:
This position is in the Senior Executive Service (SES), a small elite group of senior government leaders who possess a diverse portfolio of experience and the strong skills required to lead across organizations. This dedicated corps of executives is charged with providing strategic leadership and upholding a commitment to public service that transcends loyalty to a specific agency mission or individual profession. As an SES member you will influence the direction of innovation and transformation of the federal government and lead the next generation of public servants. There are multiple duty locations for this position: Washington, DC, Montgomery County in MD, and Atlanta, GA. Please indicate on your resume which location(s) you are interested in. Vacancies may be filled in any HHS Operating Division including but not limited to: Administration for Children and Families; Administration for Community Living, Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, Food and Drug Administration, Health Resources Services Administration; Indian Health Services; Agency for Healthcare Research Quality; National Institutes of Health; Centers for Disease Control and Prevention; Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry; Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration; or an any of the HHS Office of the Secretary Staff Divisions. The Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) is the United States Government's principal agency for protecting the health of all Americans and providing essential human services, especially for those who are least able to help themselves. The Department includes more than 300 programs, covering a wide spectrum of activities.
