Job Summary:
There are two locations for this position, West Bethesda, MD and Newport, RI. The NAVSEA Carderock Division, Naval Surface Warfare Center in West Bethesda, MD conducts research, development, test, evaluation (RDT&E;), fleet support and in-service engineering (ISE) in support of hull, mechanical and electrical systems for both surface and undersea naval vehicles and for logistics. The Division is also chartered to provide support to the U.S. Maritime industry. The NAVSEA Newport Division, Naval Undersea Warfare Center in Newport, RI is the Navy's full-spectrum research, development, test and evaluation, engineering, and fleet support center for submarine warfare systems and many other systems associated with the undersea battlespace. This establishes Public Notice under the Distinguished Scholastic Achievement Appointment Authority (DSAA). Seeking college/university graduates with bachelor's degrees or higher. Applications can be accepted from students who expect to complete qualifying education within 9 months from the date of application. This position has promotion potential to the NT-1102-04 grade level. If selected below the full performance level, the candidate may be noncompetitively promoted to the next higher grade level after meeting all regulatory requirements, and upon the recommendation of management. Promotion is neither implied nor guaranteed.
