Job Summary:
The Executive Director provides executive leadership over the administration and operation of the full range of Maritime Administration (MARAD) responsibilities. Participates with the Administrator and Deputy Administrator in planning and establishing program policies, objectives and priorities and directs the development of strategic action plans and the advancement of organizational excellence for the accomplishment of maritime priorities. Oversees initiatives to define the agencys role and structure. Leads the MARAD Leadership Team in coordinating and identifying crosscutting issues related to the achievement of core missions. Serves as the spokesperson for MARAD and DOT policies before Congress, other Federal agencies, State and local governments, industry organizations and other special interest groups and the public. This is a Career Reserved Position.
