Job Summary:
This position is located in the Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy (EERE). The mission of the EERE Biomass Technologies Office is to foster research and development on advances technologies to transform our abundant biomass resources into clean, affordable, and domestically produced biofuels, biopower, and high value bio-products for improving the economic development and enhancing the energy supply options of the United States. The Biomass Technologies Office (BTO) provides the overall strategy, policy, management, direction, and programmatic expertise necessary for a balanced program of research, development, testing, and evaluation that will catalyze the commercial deployment of biomass technologies. The Director will lead the national biomass program and build its investment portfolio on detailed market and technology analysis, in collaborations with leaders and technology experts from industry, academia, and the national laboratories. The Director leads a team of over 30 scientists and engineers who manage an annual project portfolio valued at $200M.
