ADPCS/Nurse Executive: The VA Southern Medical Center is currently seeking a dynamic, experienced leader for the Office of Nursing Service. The Associate Director Patient Care Services/Nurse Executive (ADPCS/NE) is responsible and accountable for quality patient outcomes, overall nursing operations, administration, personnel, programs and budget. The ADPCS/NE functions at the senior leadership level to coordinate leaders in the delivery of nursing care, treatment, and services. The incumbent assumes an active leadership role within the organization's governing body, medical staff, management and other clinical leaders in the decision - making structure. The ADPCS/NE candidate demonstrates advanced knowledge/experience in the development, coordination, implementation, and evaluation of an ONS wide plan to provide nursing care, treatment, and services. S/He coordinates/directs the development/implementation of an effective, on-going program to measure, analyze, and improve the quality of nursing care, treatment, and services. The ADPCS/NE candidate exhibits leadership that is characterized by substantial and continuous responsibility and accountability for the oversight of nursing care provided throughout the Medical Center, to ensure compliance with VHA directives, TJC standards, and other regulatory standards. S/He exhibits strong organizational and leadership skills that develop and mentor a highly effective, diverse workforce, and improve overall health care system operations. The successful candidate must demonstrate exceptional relationships and communication and leadership skills with all levels of medical center personnel and relate effectively with customers, families, and the community as well as program and service leaders at the local, network, and national levels. The ADPCS/NE candidate maintains a current working knowledge of health care policies, medical news and public policy related to healthcare.
