Job Summary:
U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) is the largest investigative arm of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). ICE protects national security and upholds public safety by targeting criminal networks and terrorist organizations that seek to exploit vulnerabilities in the immigration system, in the financial networks, along the U.S. borders, and elsewhere. The Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO) provides information technology services and products that ensure the security and efficiency of our nation's law enforcement system. The OCIO delivers innovative information technology and business solutions that enable ICE to protect and secure our nation. The Deputy Chief Information Officer assists the Chief Information Officer (CIO) in providing a strategic vision for the information technology program of ICE and is responsible for the conception, development, and implemention of policies, procedures, and standards, that create and sustain a strong and flexible IT enterprise. This encompasses such areas as enterprise architecture, technical infrastructure, cybersecurity, information assurance, application development and integration, disaster recovery, deployment of IT resources, and telecommunications. The Deputy CIO represents ICE on matters internal and external to the agency and shares with the CIO ultimate accountability for the IT program. Duty Location: This vacancy annoucement will be used to fill the position of Deputy Chief Informaton Officer, within the Department of Homeland Security, Immigration and Customs Enforcement, Office of the Chief Information Officer, in Washington, D.C.
